Our Northern Heat Wood Chips are a green and food grade certified option that can be used for BBQ smokers, pizza ovens, and as a method for burning kindling. These chips provide a rich flavour, and are perfect for charcoal and gas grills.

Northern Heat Wood Chips are a real wood option, made from a mix of different hardwoods that have gone through our environmentally friendly modification process of just heat and steam.

Charcoal Grills and Smokers

Soak 1-3 cups of chips in water for a half hour

Spread chips evenly on charcoal or around edges

For heavier and continuous flavour, continue to add chips every fifteen minutes.

For dry chips – place them close to fire and control any flare-ups with a spray bottle.

Gas Grills

Soak 1-3 cups of chips for a half hour

Wrap chips in foil, leaving holes for smoke to escape, pr add them to a smoker tray

Place tray or foil on grates or on heat tents

For best results, keep grilled closed. Chips will begin to smoke in approx. 15 minutes.
