IronMind Wellness: Building Strength Through Connection

When Jeremy left his position at New Tide Counseling, it wasn’t a decision made lightly. Eventually, though, he knew that it was time to take the leap and build something of his own. Out of that realization came IronMind Wellness, a practice rooted in resilience, connection, and the belief that iron sharpens iron.

“We put a lot of planning into it. The colours, the design of the logo, the layout, how we approach counseling. It’s very much focused on that iron sharpens iron mindset,” says Jeremy.

IronMind’s mission is clear—supporting those in the highest need. The practice’s three pillars are:

Jeremy isn’t alone in this mission, he’s partnered with therapist Marie-Hélène LeBouthillier. The two of them connected over the different phases of brainspotting, which they’re both trained in. From there, she reached out to Jeremy about wanting to start a private practice. Together, they bring balance to IronMind Wellness: male and female perspectives and English and French services.

While these pillars are their specialty, Jeremy and his colleague Marie-Hélène welcome anyone seeking support. Their counseling services are designed to be approachable, professional, and responsive, ensuring that clients feel both respected and understood.

IronMind opened its doors only recently, and the response has already been strong. Without any formal advertising, word-of-mouth has carried new clients through their doors.

IronMind is more than a counseling office. Beyond one-on-one therapy, the team hosts workshops, consulting sessions, and speaking engagements. They’ve also launched support groups, including a men’s group with the Pabineau First Nation that integrates cultural teachings and fosters open conversations around mental health.

These groups challenge one of the greatest barriers men face: isolation. “It’s really about getting men together, because we know that men tend to isolate, especially when they’re struggling. We’re getting them to talk and feel comfortable about some of these things.”

Today, IronMind stands as a growing resource for Bathurst and beyond. With no waitlist, free consultations, and both in-person and virtual options, the practice is removing barriers at a time when mental health services are more in demand than ever. There are also other rooms to rent in the building where Jeremy is hoping to grow a team of likeminded professionals. One room is perfect for a massage therapist, with much of the equipment already in the room, and there are a couple of others waiting to be rented.
