A Blast From The Past And Present

There’s Something For Everyone On Rough Waters Drive

On 1967 Rough Waters Drive in Bathurst, New Brunswick, you’ll find a shop unlike any other in the area. Rockin’ Gamers Inc is a store right out of a time machine. For those collectors who long for the days when physical media was king, this is the place for you.

We had the opportunity to visit the shop and as soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by video games, DVDs, VHSs, vinyl, CDs, cassettes, music magazines, and so much more. It’s quite the sight, according to the owner, Pierre Paul Duguay, the best is yet to come.

Rockin’ Gamers opened its doors on Christmas Eve of 2023. After realizing that in order to make a shop like this work, you need to expand beyond Bathurst, Pierre Paul spent the next three months taking pictures of his inventory all day everyday. He has over 7000 items on his online shop and that’s only about half of what he has in stock.

“I’ve been a music lover since I was five years old,” says Pierre Paul. “In the beginning, I was only buying music, and then I added video games.”

The collecting started in 2014, and Pierre Paul was able to accumulate large amounts of product through marketplace and other online avenues when he was working a job that had him on the road a lot.

Now his shop is filled and there are great things for both kids and adults alike.

“It’s a family shop,” says Pierre Paul. “It’s for everyone.”

He is also fair in his pricing as he meticulously researches every product that he sells to ensure that the pricing is accurate. He says that some things may seem expensive, but there are a lot of collectables that simply aren’t cheap.

He still plans on adding pictures to the website, but now that he has thousands of items available online, he wants to focus on marketing his shop so more people know that he’s open.

You can find some of his products on Marketplace, and you can check out his online shop here: https://www.rockingamersinc.ca/

If you have items you’d like to trade, he offers anywhere between 50 and 70 percent of the item’s value in store credit.

He’ll be running a promo until Halloween, which will include free shipping for orders over $149.99 with code FREESHIPPING, another code for 15 percent off of orders over $349.99 with code MARKO, and 20 percent off of orders over $499.99 with the code ESTRADA. All of these codes are in all upper case letters.

With Christmas coming in a few months, Pierre Paul is looking forward to seeing some clients do their Christmas shopping at Rockin’ Gamers Inc. He opened the day before Christmas last year, and felt he missed out on the opportunity.

This is a great and unique shop for collectors. We want to thank Pierre Paul for being a guest on this week’s edition of The Northern Heat Report. The place you come to listen to the stories that have not yet been discovered.
